Born on May 16, 1907, in Amsterdam, Netherlands. She worked as a painter, illustrator, and textile designer. She began designing cross-stitch patterns in 1929. She provided cross-stitch designs four times a year for a quarterly magazine published by the Dutch publisher Margriet. In the 1960s, she provided numerous children's designs for the embroidery thread manufacturer DMC. In 1977, she published the cross-stitch pattern book "kruissteekboek" with Margriet.
